Bolivia’s Organic Peanuts Reach Europe: German Cooperation Boosts Sustainable Exports

Bolivia is strengthening its foothold in the European organic market as two containers of certified organic peanuts were recently exported to Europe by APROMAM S.R.L., in partnership with Germany’s leading organic food company Rapunzel Naturkost. The initiative is supported by the German Development Cooperation program ProResiliente, reinforcing Bolivia’s capacity to compete in high-value international markets.

The export operation reflects a broader strategy led by German Cooperation in Bolivia to strengthen climate-resilient and sustainable value chains. Through its ProResiliente program, the initiative supports local producers in meeting international standards, improving productivity, and accessing premium markets. This collaboration highlights how development partnerships can translate into tangible trade opportunities.

The organic peanuts exported comply with strict European Union regulations, ensuring chemical-free production, full traceability, and environmentally responsible agricultural practices. Certification under EU organic standards is essential for entering European markets, where consumer demand for sustainable and ethically sourced food products continues to grow steadily.

For Bolivia, this milestone goes beyond a single shipment. It represents the consolidation of non-traditional exports and the positioning of Bolivian agribusiness within specialized, high-value niches. Organic production allows farmers to secure better prices, long-term contracts, and greater market stability compared to conventional commodities.

Strategically, this export signals Bolivia’s potential to diversify its export matrix, reduce dependency on extractive sectors, and strengthen its reputation as a reliable supplier of certified organic products. As sustainability becomes a defining factor in global trade, partnerships like the one between APROMAM S.R.L. and Rapunzel Naturkost could pave the way for expanded agricultural exports to Europe.
